The Bible and Reading Schedule
The Anglican Church is founded on God’s Word. We use the entire Bible: the Old Testament, Psalms, New Testament, and the Gospels. We have a Bible reading schedule that covers almost the entire Bible over three years. So, if you attend worship every Sunday for three years, you will hear almost the entire Bible read.
During the 1500s, the Anglican Church was established through the Reformation in England and across Europe. The church began to discover the power of reading the Bible in familiar language. For the Anglican Church in Thailand, we worship in Thai and encourage our members to experience the power of hearing God’s Word in their own language.
At St. Andrews Church, we read the Bible according to a schedule. At www.praydos.org, you can use this schedule to read the Bible daily and prepare for Sunday worship. We encourage you to read and meditate on the Bible for yourself.
We believe the Bible is God’s Word, written when God spoke to His people. We read the Bible to hear God and understand His character, His will, and His promises. God fills our lives with His hope and generosity through His Word, and transforms us with humility and gentleness. In Ephesians 1:17, Paul prays that we would know Jesus Christ better through the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Bible leads us to Jesus – and through Jesus, we are empowered to live faithfully.
