St. Andrew's Community
We are a community with three activity groups: the church (St. Andrew’s), the school (Siri Anda), and outreach in the neighboring area (Community Learning Center). We have other activities and relationships, which we will explain in the next section. The school, church, and center together demonstrate a complete faith in Jesus Christ and our identity as His people. Jesus Himself had three similar ministries: teaching, preaching, and healing (Matthew 4:23).
When we first found the current building in Nong Pa Krang, it was overgrown with weeds, had broken windows, and a musty smell in the air. But by God’s mercy, this building has been restored and beautifully decorated, and the entire surrounding area has been transformed, filled with hope and a sense of new purpose.
The three activity groups impact three wider circles: the Nong Pa Krang neighborhood, Chiang Mai city, and Northern Thailand. For example, we collaborate with government schools in the district and with Anglican brothers and sisters in Pai and Om Koi districts. Our members have relatives in San Kamphaeng district, Mae Sot district, Korat city, and Bangkok! Many members work with various organizations based in Chiang Mai and reach out to all three of our communities.
When you enter the St. Andrew’s community, it may take some time before you can see the ministry of these three groups: the church, school, and center. We hope this book will help answer your questions, and we’re happy to provide more details! And we invite you to join us in worship and see God’s work through our community.
